MENLO PARK, Calif., October 29, 2018--(BUSINESS WIRE)--According to Scientific American, electroceuticals, a branch of neurotechnology, is one of the top 10 emerging technologies of 2018. One of the prominent neurotechnology organizations, Neurotech Reports, held their annual Neurotech Leaders Forum recently in San Francisco, California. During the event, Tivic Health Systems was awarded the Gold Electrode Award for Most Promising Start-up. Blake Gurfein, PhD, Tivic Health’s VP of Research and Scientific Affairs and Assistant Professor at UC San Francisco, presented a talk and accepted the award.

James Cavuoto, editor and publisher of The Neurotech Business Report says, “Our editors were impressed by Tivic Health’s innovative technology to address an unmet medical need. The scientific and management team seem well positioned to bring the ClearUP Sinus Pain Relief device to market.” Gurfein adds, “I was attracted to join Tivic Health because they are lean, execution-oriented and serious about evidence-based products that are efficacious and address real clinical needs. Because of my previous research in neuromodulation, I saw the potential promise of the ClearUP Sinus Pain Relief device. In less than a year, we have progressed from a well-designed prototype to FDA clearance-pending.”

The Neurotech Leaders Forum is a two-day conference for neurotechnology executives and entrepreneurs to interact with investors, partners and technologists. This year it attracted 120 international and US neurotechnology professionals.
